I like to work in as many different mediums as I can; from paper and pencil, to canvas and brush, to keyboards and tablets, to clay and glaze, to a welding torch and grinding wheel. I find the learning process from one can lead to creative breakthroughs in another, and I try to use that cross-pollination to make interesting things.
In my commercial work, I strive to distill the essence of my client’s need and desire while using my own experience to guide the artistic process. I am equally comfortable working within given parameters or having the freedom to inject some of my own style and viewpoint, depending on the nature of the project.
My personal work explores the relationship between postmodern discourse and emotional memories. I am fascinated by the absurd dichotomy of the human mind. What starts out as triumph soon becomes manipulated into a hegemony of power, leaving only a sense of decadence and the possibility of a new order.
